Welcome
Hello, my name is John Clare. I started my own caviary in late 2005. I only keep and breed one breed of guinea pig (or cavy), the Teddy. I keep my cavies primarily as pets and as a result I keep fewer than 10 adult cavies so that I can give all of them lap time and attention. Having said that, I only keep pedigree cavies and I breed them to the American Rabbit Breeder's Association's Standard of Perfection.
My teddies are brokens which means they have two or more colors in separate areas of the coat. Most of my cavies are tortoiseshell and white (black, red and white). The remainder are golden agouti, red and white. Red in cavies is more like orange-brown.
I'm lucky to have pigs with good bloodlines and good natures. If you are looking for a good quality teddy cavy with at least a 3 generation pedigree, please check the for sale page. I live in the Dallas area of north Texas and I'm willing to travel modest distances, particularly to shows in central Texas and southern Oklahoma.
